4 Self Care Tips

Establish a morning routine.

Establishing a solid morning routine is the key to start everyday right. My personal routine is to shower and brush my teeth, make my coffee, and cook the kids and myself breakfast. I don’t allow myself to get on my phone or check my notifications until those things are done. If you fill your mind with dopamine from social media, everything else you do during your day will seem boring. This form of self care will also encourage self discipline.

Make sure you allow yourself time to relax and unwind.

This is a big one. After a long day at work, juggling the kids, and cleaning your home you need to set aside time to unwind. I typically do this once the kids have fallen asleep. It is also a good time to write in your journal and get your day jotted down on paper. So take a hot bath, watch your favorite tv show, or listen to some calm music. It isn’t selfish to take your five minutes to yourself!

Get Active with Exercise or Outdoor Activities

Physical health is just as important as mental health. Sunlight is also an important thing to get during your day. Improving your physical body, weather it be by lifting weights, going for a walk or jog, or yoga will help build your self image and give you a sense of accomplishment.

Earth Healthy

Eating healthy is one of the most important aspects of self-care. It is essential to fuel your body with nutritious foods that can provide you with the energy and nutrients you need to stay healthy. Eating a balanced diet full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats can help improve your overall health and well-being. Furthermore, by eating nutritious foods, you can reduce your risk for developing chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity. Eating healthier also helps boost your mood and energy levels so that you can be productive in your daily life.
